Up until about 3 months ago I didn't know that active wear-resistant detergents existed. My husband is an avid cyclist. He trains 9 to 10 times a week, plus horse racing. I've also been known to exercise several times a week. So we have a bunch of smelly gym clothes that need to be washed a few times a week. We've used other "natural" cleansers - Mrs. Meyers, Nellie, and most recently, Charlie. We've found that our clothes just don't get clean. We preprocessed everything. Especially the dimples on my shirts and his bike suits. Nothing really helped. We didn't want to switch to heavily perfumed detergents. We felt that this would only mask the problem of bacteria build-up in clothing. We didn't want to wash everything hot either. That's why we decided to try active washing of clothes, which better removes bacteria and fat accumulations on the body. No sweat really works. It removed the yellow pit stains from my shirts and solved the short bike issues. The scent is very pleasant and soft. I don't like it when my clothes smell fresh and not fake. I highly recommend this product. It's a bit pricey, but you'll use less than a full cap, even for heavy loads. I have not compared other sports detergents.
