Review on Fusion MS BT100 Bluetooth Dongle Marine by Sam Lee

Purchased for use with Kenwood KAC-M1814 marine amplifier. Installation was easy, BT pairing was quick and easy. The sound quality was as good as any other Bluetooth device. Took the boat out and played music for about 4 hours and noticed the audio skipped randomly and more often than I agree. Enough to make me want to return it. Other things I don't like are how loud the pairing sound is, as well as the loud "popping" that occurs when pairing the phone and even navigating the phone to open the music app, settings, etc. as well as the fact that there is no automatic connection. You need to go into your phone's BT settings and select the device you want to connect to each time. And finally, the communication range is not so great. Luckily my boat is small and when I'm on it I have no problems, but when I washed the boat on the trailer and listened to music with my phone in my pocket I lost connection. I believe most of these issues are due to BT 3.0 being a bit outdated so I'm giving this one back for another brand that offers BT 4.0 connection and signal output to turn on the amp (hopefully once the BT connection is made). so the speakers don't "boom" when you plug the phone in.) I think if you plug this into the head unit it would probably be a bit better since you're controlling the output to the speakers and not them. directly to the amplifier with maximum input sensitivity. So it plays the connection tone and the "popping" at a lower volume, maybe a bit more tolerant. But skipping audio was just a deal breaker for me.
