Review on GE Microwave Magnetron Diode WB27X10017 by Cornelius Mosley

I need this for a GE Spacesaver Over the Range Microwave Oven. Although it matches the numbers listed, it did NOT work on my GE. The piece of plastic sticking out of the side of the box (where the wires connect) was on the BOTTOM side of the magnetron when installed, not on the SIDE of the magnetron, meaning the wires were TOO SHORT to attach. This also had fastening screws soldered to the back. My old one had screws on ONE EDGE on the back and I didn't need screws on the back on the right edge. We knocked out the screws and it fit, but had to find a workaround to fix the fact that the connector was on the bottom instead of on the side. UPDATE: After installation, when I turned on the MW to test it, there was a loud "click" or "pop" after about 20 seconds, followed by a burning plastic smell. I decided to give it up and decided to buy a replacement MW. My friend took the old one home to test each part and figure out which one "failed". Turns out it was the diode that came with it. Those of you who have complained about the lack of a diode are in luck. The included diode (which failed!) cost me several hundred dollars to replace the microwave. My friend put the original diode back into the old microwave and it works like a champ. Unfortunately it was too late to cancel my microwave replacement order.
