My main use of this heat gun is to restore the look of plastic and rubber trim on cars. It's surprisingly easy and will give your faded black or gray a new look in just minutes. (See photos) The discolored LCD screen on the back of the unit and a few scuffs bothered me a bit when I unpacked the box. This is the second heat gun I've bought from this manufacturer and neither of them distributes the heat exactly where it's supposed to. With or without a nozzle, the hot air on both devices tends to land on the target to the side and above or below the expected landing. The front guard on both units is misaligned. It clearly has 2 vertical and 2 horizontal intersections, but the protection on both is fitted to the device at an angle. I'm not sure, but I think this reduces the accuracy of the heat distribution.
