I want to connect my MacBook Pro to a 55" TV. I first used a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter and then a DVI to HDMI adapter to make the connection. It did not work. I also tried a mini display to HDMI adapter and then an HDMI cable to the TV. This didn't work either. A distorted image may appear for a few seconds. In the end I decided on this cable because of the "optimized chip solution". It worked great. I've been using this cable for almost two months, no problems at all. The cable is long and the build quality is excellent. I set up the TV as a second screen, not a mirror. The MacBookPro easily recognizes the 55 inch TV and automatically uses the correct resolution. It was just plug and play. I recommend this cable for connecting your computer to a TV, external monitor or projector.
