This timer is perfect for our needs. It's easy to set up and the alarm is loud enough. I've noticed that some reviewers claim that if the alarm is set for just a few minutes, it falls short or doesn't go off at all. This is probably because they don't need to have read the instructions. Follow these instructions and set by turning clockwise to the 55 minute mark (to wind the bell) and then COUNTERCLOCKWISE to set the time. THEN it works as it should. It's well made and has a strong magnet at the base so you can attach it to any steel surface you want, or simply place it on a table or counter. Very important!
