This is a very good 2018 printer. It took 4 minutes physically to get it to the desired location and connect the ethernet cable to the router, didn't install the driver, but found it and used it in less than 2 minutes after that. It's safe to say you can print with it in 10 minutes (plug it in first, let the fuser heat up. It's a laser printer, after all). I don't see the problem of deep sleep, but I know about it from the reviews, so I'm interested too. I only print to it about every 3 days so I bought it and it prints when I press the print button right out of the box. It's not instant, but it prints faster than my inkjet printers, which don't sleep and prime their ink by simply clogging the nozzles. It starts slow but finishes first compared to inkjet color photo printing. So the dream has been fixed, or am I just not asking things to print faster than the $36,000 device at work. It costs around $100 and requires no maintenance staff or a contract to keep it running. Brother just works! Beginner ink printed 2 pages per day and lasted 2 years. I met this deadline well and only had about 4 months and certainly a newer model but I expect the same. I'm sure it will be worth the money when that day comes, but I know the powder will be a lot cheaper and last longer than any inkjet printer I've had. These include EcoTank color laser jets under $300. Over $300 we should be talking about a color laser. Prices are what they are, and as lower models are phased out, they're going up in price due to technical rarities and Intertube offers. I'm sure the Pentium 4 is being bought for $427 right now because they need it and it's been suggested on the internet. Old becomes more expensive, it is better than the previous one, it is cheaper, but that does not mean that it is worse. However, there is now a new model, so buy and compare. These are your purchases, not this review. It's a good device and I hope you can see that it's cheaper than the new device and doesn't go up in price!
