I think my wife and I have the last two cars without Apple Car Play and love using Waze or Google Maps when we travel. I drive an SUV and there was plenty of room for it, but my wife has a Mazda Miata that has limited dashboard space and/or room for another type of phone holder (we spent a lot of dollars looking for a solution for her looking for a car). .
