Review on πŸ”§ Complete Soldering Iron Kit Electronics 60W - Adjustable Temp, Wire Stripper, Desoldering Pump, Tips, Stand, and More from Plusivo by James Julien

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The soldering iron is junk but other details make this kit worth the price.

For $10 there is a lot of value here. The soldering iron is junk and the tips are even worse, but for basic soldering work it's fine if you only need it for that. Even without a soldering iron, the kit costs $10. The heat shrink tubing is of fairly good quality, the desoldering pump works relatively well and the tweezers bend easily, but it's always nice to have an extra pair on hand. Yeah, duct tape isn't that bad either. It's not the stickiest, which is both a plus and a minus because it's good for wrapping because it doesn't have a lot of adhesive residue on it that melts and makes things like cords sticky. However, this is probably not the best option for sticking anything to surfaces. The wire is fine, but it's stranded, so I bought 30 AWG enameled copper wire instead to prevent shorts. Unless I use it incorrectly, the wire stripper is pretty much useless and it takes less time to strip wires with paper scissors or a lighter. I'll probably never use screwdrivers, but like tweezers, it's nice to have extra tools on hand. One final note: be careful with the included stand. It's so light that hitting the cable while the soldering iron is on the stand can cause it to fall.

  • Good product for the price
Cons
