Review on ๐ŸŽต Enhance Your Vinyl Listening Experience with the ART DJPREII Phono Preamplifier by Meghan Davis

Sounds great, but you need a power switch!

I installed it between an old Harmon Kardon turntable and a new Yamaha receiver. It sounds way better than any sub-$1,000 receiver with a built-in preamp. These preamps are inserted as afterthoughts or gimmicks. It's far wiser to spend the money on a separate solid preamp like this. It would be hard to do better than without spending a few hundred. Make sure you connect it to the player with a fairly short cable (mine is about 3 feet long). The length of the cable to the receiver does not play a major role. The only complaints about it were that it doesn't have an on/off button and the power indicator is incredibly bright. Not wanting to stare at this sparkling miniature sun 24/7 and finding the plugging and unplugging beyond inconvenience, I bought a $3 built-in switch at the hardware store and plugged it into the power cord. Both problems are solved!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I won't say anything
