There must be a special hell for installers who don't label coax! There were 7 wires going from my attic to the splitter, and I had no idea which one went to which room. This handy gadget quickly solved that riddle for me; Screw the tone cap on one end and put the cap with the battery on the other end of the cable. If you hear a loud signal, label this wire immediately! If not, keep testing until you find the right cable. This is one of those items that you might only need once in a lifetime so I was glad the price was reasonable.
