My Omron HJ-720ITC has been serving my purposes perfectly for over 10 years! I bought it in March 2010 and have been using it almost every day since. I only use the Omron to see how many steps and miles I've walked and to check the time instead of the watch. Steps and miles are pretty accurate - I drove 2 miles in my car and then ran with a pedometer and it came out within 0.1 miles. Aerobic and calorie counts aren't very useful to me, it's not Omron's fault, but I live on a hill and walking on hills at a normal pace is aerobic and burns more calories. I don't use a clip, I put a safety pin on the strap and either thread the strap through the belt loop or clip it to my bag. I don't use any software.
