For the price this seems like a good scale. I bought these to measure dosing of nootropic supplements. Although it claims to be accurate to +/- 0.5 milligrams, it doesn't work with very light weights. For example, a dietary supplement has a recommended dose of 10 mg. I couldn't get the scale to register any weight until I put more than 25mg on it. This is a problem for me. This is normal with higher doses (e.g. 300 mg). For a reason, nootropic recommendations tend to be ranges, so it doesn't matter if I'm off by a gram or two. But for a dose of 10 mg, the scales are not enough. I can experiment by putting a heavier weight on the tray WITHOUT zeroing it and then adding it. It could work. My powders stuck to the plastic trays so I couldn't take the full dose. I had to wipe a thin layer of powder off the shell every time I used it. With low dose supplements this is a problem as quite a percentage of the total measured remains in the dish. A few things weren't what I expected, but that's not the product's fault. It is important to read the manual to use this scale properly. For example, a ceiling fan spinning slowly or even a running air conditioner can affect the scale. You also need to calibrate it every time you move the scale. My plan of keeping it in my desk drawer and pulling it out when needed doesn't work unless I want to calibrate it every time I use it, which would be annoying. It can also be affected if you are too close to electronic devices such as a computer or speakers. However, I am happy with the purchase. Much more expensive laboratory balances are needed to solve most of the above problems. For the price they are great.
