This must be mounted in a VERY thin panel.

My goal was to mount this on a piece of wood panel in my RV. The wood is about 1/2" thick. I removed the knob from the switch, and there is a piece of plastic that is about 1/2" thick. I would guess this might fit on a metal panel less that 1/16" thick. I removed the extra plastic piece and drilled a center hole and 4 screw holes, and had to get a much longer 4/40 screw to re-attach the knob. it is functioning in my application, but would be much nicer in a thin metal panel.For functionality, I

Pro Tip: Verify which terminals go to which switch position before you wire it in

I used this to have an option to connect my furnace to my portable generator. Once I figured out which way the circuit went (which is totally on me) it worked fine. One position, furnace runs normally. Other position, plug in an extension cord and the furnace still works.We'll see how it does for durability, but for now pretty happy.Fits in a 2-1/8" electrical box, mounted to the cover.

Quality Build But Not a Viable Drum Switch Alternative

Fit and finish is great. Very positive snap into each position. However, the 12 terminal model won't work to wire an AC motor reversing circuit. An AC motor reversing circuit involves 6 wires and a ground. So, 6 wires X 2 positions = 12 terminals. NO! The switch only makes and brakes 3 wires in position 1 and 3 in position 2. But you need to make and brake all 6 wires per position. So, the 16 terminal switch is required. But even the 16 requires a WHOLE BUNCH of jumpers (like 8, 10?). The 16…

Works great as a static transfer switch.

Using this as a "static" transfer switch (not switched under load) between a service and a generator.Mounted easily.Good solid feel to the switch.Easy to wire.

Top quality switch, Delivered quickly

Due to my stupidity, I opened one end of the switch to view the contact point sizes and have lost one of the contact plates having two contacts and one of the retaining springs. Where can replacement parts be obtained ?Thank you

Very Well Made. Bigger Than Expected.

This switch seems to be very well made - with positive clicks in each position and a beefy overall feel to the construction. If you have a basic understanding of electronics, it is easy (via jumpers) to make this a source-selection switch (as I did) for selection between a generator and solar power source. THIS SWITCH IS TOO SMALL

THIS SWITCH IS VERY SMALL AND CAN NOT HANDLE THE SIZE WIRE I NEED TO USE ALSO THE SIZE OF THIS SWITCH IS NOT DISCUSSED IN THE DESCRIPTION I NEED THE 16 ONE TO HADLE A 220V CIRCUIT AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES ATTACHED THIS 16 WIRE ONE IS VERY SMALL AND I DON'T THINK I CAN TRUST IT TO HADLE A 220V CIRCUIT.

Heavy duty! Great value!

I'm running a 48v 20a outboard motor through these and they are working great! No issues with overheating or any other over powering issues. The high amp 12 conector switch is huge! Designed to mount through thin metal. I had to get a longer bolt for the switch when mounting through 1/4" plywood.
