We had just finished our Christmas shopping (or so we thought) when our 8 year old daughter said she decided to ask Santa for a Harry Potter wand and spell book. Resigned to keeping Santa's magic alive for another year, I'm heading to Revane to see what's available. The realism of this wand caught my attention in comparison to the backlit practice wands as my daughter insisted on a "real wand" so I grabbed it even though it was more than I was willing to spend without much arguing. It arrived yesterday and the first thing I noticed was the packaging. The simple but serious Ollivanders wand box and frayed tape packaging make you feel like you're running a real business. The stick itself sits firmly in the recess, but can be easily removed. A very nice example judging by the photo. I haven't spent much time researching the wands from the film, but the notes say it's an exact replica and I believe it. It's heavier than I thought it would be and feels strong and durable when you hold it. I'm an occasional fan of books and movies and was surprised I was so looking forward to getting this as a Christmas gift. Definitely worth the extra cost.
