We decided to get this doggie pool after doing some research and finding that Jasonwell seemed to be a popular pick and got some pretty decent reviews. It came as expected; easy to unfold and fill up with the hose. Our miniature golden retriever puppy (3 months old in the pics, now about 3.5 months old), loves water, but only in the drinking sense. So, this pool can serve multiple purposes. Whether it's having your kids splash around in it (like my daughter is in the picture), having your dog cool off in it, or even just keeping it out as an oversized drinking bowl for your pup. Although, beware, if you're in a forested area like we are, pine needles are bound to cover the surface of the water and a couple of bugs may join in on the pool party. We only kept the water in there for a max of two days so it wouldn't get too slimy and gross on the bottom, as expected with stagnant water. Since our Bowie (named after David) isn't much of a water dog yet.despite being almost 90% golden retriever.we haven't gotten too much use out of this pool. We've taken it out a few times so far, and it's held up against the heat and razor-sharp puppy claws (although he just stands still and quickly jumps out after us putting him in). One of the best features is that it isn't inflatable so any biting, play, or digging won't bother this kind of pool. The sides are approximately 12", so taller than your average kiddie pool. Our puppy was able to stand in it just fine without being fully submerged, so it's really more of a cooling station for dogs who love the water. It does take a bit of time and water to fill, so I suggest not filling it to the "max fill line" and conserve a bit of water, especially if you're only keeping it in there for a day or two. Draining it flooded our lawn a bit, but if you direct it correctly or use the hose option, it should work just fine. We got a size large, so not too big but not too small. I think next time I'd go for the extra-large just so other dogs in the neighborhood can join in. Bowie will be approximately 40 lbs. full-grown, and this pool still wasn't that big for him even at 16-17 lbs. Overall the pool is a nice way to cool off in the sun, or leave out for all the creatures in the neighborhood to enjoy. we will likely just end up using it for baths and those hot summer days (although they seem to be vanishing this year). I would recommend! Let's all hope that we can turn this crazy pup into a water animal one day!
