First off, this is my first laser printer I've ever had and I use it A LOT (I homeschool my kids and print a TON of resources). It's fast, it has decent image quality (not inkjet quality, but it's fine for what we need). I love that it has an automatic two-sided printing feature that makes printing my kids' workbooks quick and easy. I liked all my brothers printers from the past so I decided to try this one. I've had it for a month now and have printed 1100 pages. HOWEVER, I HATE that this printer doesn't have a toner reset option. I feel robbed every time I have to throw out a toner cartridge and for some reason ALL the cartridges seem to be empty AT THE SAME TIME. I'm pretty sure it tracks page count, not how much toner is actually used. I printed some black and white pages in grayscale mode (I have it set on both the printer and my computer) and for some reason in the middle of printing my computer told me that my yellow had run out of toner and now I don't do it myself can print EVERYTHING. I'm very angry, I need these worksheets! I KNOW there is still toner in it, but since it has a "smart" chip, the consumer is screwed. I want to get an older version of the same printer so I can reset the toner manually. So if I had to choose again, I would choose a different printer that allows consumers to reset it and continue using it until all the toner is used up. It's definitely not worth the cost. I wish I had known that before buying a printer. So I decided to share what I learned hoping it will help someone else making the same mistake!
