If you're throwing something you really need out of the field, then this little guy isn't cut out for the job. Out of the box, and even without connecting to air ducts, it creates a fairly powerful flow of air from the seam parts around the fan, from the mounting screw holes, and from the side-mounted control box. Even after caulking/taping, we still found leaks, which obviously made regular cleaning of the unit nearly impossible. With a couple of rubber bumpers this problem probably wouldn't exist, but I guess the manufacturer doesn't care where the air goes as long as it goes primarily through the exhaust port. Don't even think about using it to clean. Smoke out of the room unless you want to be amazed at how the smoke is sucked into your air ducts only to then pour out of the fan itself. I'm not giving it a star just because it's probably good for airflow and humidity control.
