Unwanted Air Filter Best in Filters

Paid a hefty amount of money for this intake system compared to the competition only to find out I have to pay even more to get a quality filter from said competitor. I chose the AEM filter. and then it was also fun to see the cheap plastic used for the MAF extension connectors could melt a few soda bottles and get a more durable plastic. You see Honda on every high schooler. I live in the desert on the high plains, and we have very fine dust particles, so a cheap air filter with lots of holes in my "race car" will half fix the engine. Way through a 2 hour day of racing. daily maintenance of an expensive Subaru DIT engine? No thanks Mishimoto. I rescaled the MAF myself using AccessPort and expensive Accestuner software, at the highest voltage this inlet (with an AEM DryFlo filter) can see almost 13 percent more air mass. that's about 33 additional horsepower over the stock intake system. The only reason I gave this product so many stars is the actual increase in performance when I set it up. Set yourself up for a 30 percent ethanol blend and with the help of all the spare parts I was able to add 2.5 to 14 degrees of spark advance to the FA20 engine. I haven't put the car on a dyno to see an actual increase in power, but it's commonly said that 1 degree of sync can result in a loss/gain of up to 10hp. but the dyno and data logs confirm that the car feels faster with the e-juice blend. However, I can easily calculate fuel economy and get a decent amount of mpg, despite adding 13 percent more fuel to compensate for ethanol. Mix. Increased from 26mpg to 31mpg only due to the correct tuning and blending of a small amount of E85 with 91 E0 octane. With the extra power and torque, I also switched the CVT and diff fluid to Amsoil brand fluids. Used Subaru OE fluid in CVT and Mobil 1 in differentials.

  • Air Intake
Cons
