Tried despite the reviews - waste of time. Setup was easy. Type. To connect them to the AC 5300 I had to update the firmware. To update the firmware you need to use a separate app (Asus Lyra). When the firmware was up to date, everything connected without any problems. The signal throughout the house was excellent! But the connected devices kept losing their internet connection for some reason. You can restart your computer and it will improve for a while, but then it will keep happening. Also, I have 2 out of 3 nodes, so my connection was guaranteed to be good, but actually it wasn't because the internet was down despite a stable connection. Signal. From time to time you will catch a node reboot yourself. In other cases, you will find that the node disappears (appears offline), but the status of the LED on the node shows that the device is OK. Finally, the connection between the nodes was not smooth or as expected. For example, I could be sitting right next to a wired node and my phone would connect to the node furthest away from me. So I tried turning Wi-Fi on my phone off and on again, it connected to the closest host at that point, but shortly after switching to a more distant host it dropped the bandwidth back down to a much lower value . Disappointing even for a cheaper product. Not what I expect from Asus! If it worked in peak I was able to get 450Mbps throughput then with the same configuration and distance I would get 1. Off to find another solution.
