Filters only when enabled.
Does nothing in terms of filtration when tested with a calibrated TDS meter. The reading straight from my faucet was 165. The water lines that feed the refrigerator were taken from the same sampling site. The "filtered" water had a TDS of 155. Of course, there is practically no difference. I doubt I will buy these filters again
