Starter bolt hole was cracked and loose. drilled out Hit with a whale crane. Used line oil. Did it for a long time! I would do 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, full turn if not too much resistance then remove the faucet, clean and re-grease. I used a 1/4" spool because I wanted to read blogs and the starter bolt threads are twice the length of the spiral spool so I wanted it to be more centered. I used Red Lock Tit on the spool. we go for the night We'll see if it works tomorrow or not. Tomorrow comes I will install a new starter and a strut securing the front of the starter to the block. The mount was found here on Amazon. the engine starts as it should. Washers are not required. I recently restored it and wanted to keep my investment in the restoration.
