Motion activated light works great, ideal for small spaces

This motion activated LED light is super easy to install if you're even a little familiar with electricity - just make sure you unplug the power connector from the installation point panel (not just from the wall switch!). Once connected and installed, this little device turns on automatically when it detects nearby motion. The motion detection works perfectly. It stays on until about 3 minutes pass without motion detection, after which it turns off automatically. The light is bright enough for use in small closets, pantries, laundries, basements, etc. This is a really big energy saver because not only does it turn off automatically, but it uses so little power compared to incandescent bulbs. The caveat I have is that the light fixture doesn't have a replaceable bulb or fixture as far as I can tell. The product description on Revain and the instruction manual doesn't mention anything about changing the light, so I'm assuming that if the light goes out this light will fail as well - and I opened it up to see for myself (see my picture) . The manufacturer claims a lifespan of 50,000 hours, which is around 5.5 years if left on 24 hours a day. If the estimates are pretty accurate anywhere, the thing with the auto-shutoff feature should last a really long time. But I haven't used LEDs long enough to know if they're up to the mark. When I switched from incandescent to CFL a few years ago, I was blown away by claims that CFLs would last much longer. Experience has taught me that this is not the case and I am convinced that the real world longevity claims were and are not accurate. Hopefully this LED light will actually last a long time, but be aware that when it eventually fails, the entire unit will need to be replaced. In general I like it very much. If you have a small space that needs hands-free lighting or automatic lighting for comfort, this is a great option. highlighted.
