Initially, the splitter did not recognize any of the HDMI outputs. The instructions weren't clear when I could only see one screen at a time or both. After unplugging the power cord from the box several times, the box was able to see both HDMI outputs, the green LEDs were lit and both screens were visible. There is no visible difference in image quality. I have an ASUS HD display and a Sony Bravia TV connected to my computer. Update: Susan from customer service was kind enough to check my review and make sure the splitter works fine. That's great customer service and I'm giving it another star for that. The product is really good!
