MoCA Filter 5-Pack for Optimal Cable TV & OTA Coaxial Network Performance Review

I use these filters that come with my modem and come with every MoCa. They help with signal leaks and open access to your network. At least that explains why you need them if you're using MoCa. Two on each might be overkill but it works and they allow me to use cables around my house and LAN for my modem. Take her, you won't regret it.

To make sure they filter the MoCA bandwidth I tested one of these between a wall and my Actiontec MoCA adapter. This correctly prevented the MoCA from receiving any signal. Installing this filter between your network and your ISP's line is an important part of any MoCA setup to protect your data from neighbors and your network from interference.

Many ISPs "upgrade" their customers by sending them a new modem, most likely using the newer DOCSIS 3.1 standard. MoCA frequencies interfere with DOCSIS 3.1, so you need to connect a filter to the back of the new modem (in addition to the PoE filter). If you don't, you'll either get very slow speeds or the internet just won't work. These filters worked great and now everything is fine.

Received this as part of my MoCA setup. I originally had a cable box in my living room and ran MoCA and cable signals over the same line. This had no noticeable effect on the cable modem signal levels. I ended up splitting the CoAX because the incoming cable signal was too weak to handle the extra splitters. I don't expect any of my neighbors to use MoCA. When I didn't have a filter, I had the same MoCA performance.

Five of these MoCA filters came in one pack. I used one filter on my duct and one on each of my two neighbors' ducts because Comcast didn't install MoCA filters. These things are amazing! I run a MoCa network with four TiVo devices and two Motorola MoCa adapters. I had constant dropouts, the downstream cable speed was around 5Mbps and the streaming was terrible. I placed one of them on the house cable entry, one on the handset adapter (for TiVo) and one on the cable modem. Suddenly the streaming is great, no more interruptions, and the cable speed tests average 117 Mbps, giving the service a 100. I'm more than happy with this purchase.
