Review on Adapter Chipset CableCreation Converter Windows Computer Accessories & Peripherals for Computer Cable Adapters by Doug Virden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for Raspberry Pi

This review is for the CableCreation USB-RS232 Adapter (FTDI chipset). I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running Raspbian Jessie and this adapter connects and configures itself automatically - no drivers to install. It gets the device name "ttyUSB0" if it's the first USB serial adapter, "ttyUSB1" if it's the second, etc. It's easy to use with the Python "serial" module. This is a good, cheap, and easy way to add serial ports to your Pi.

Pros
  • ►Wide Compatibility: USB RS232 adapter works with modems, ISDN terminal adapters, digital cameras, label printers, PDAs, PDAs, cash register, CNC, PLC control, tax printers, POS, barcode scanners, label printers and devices with serial DB9 ports.
Cons
  • Don't remember
