Yes, it was soft, but almost not as big as in the picture. The photos look like you're stuck in a pillow. It wasn't mine! You need to leave it out of the package for 2 days to recover the size. The pillow never fully expanded or didn't have enough stuffing to fill the pillowcase. The cover is very loose. My purchase was cheap and maybe you get what you pay for too many headaches to return so this is a dog cushion now.
