LRS 150 24 Switching Supply Single Output Review

Great 24V PSU This is the best deal I could find on a Meanwel PSU of this size. I used it to add a stepper motor to my 60w red and black laser cutter. It has worked great for the past few months.

The device has a kind of current limit for the 2 ampere setting that has to be overcome in everyday use. The 6.5 amp reading doesn't seem accurate as I'm only giving a 1.6 amp load at startup. I wouldn't appreciate a maximum of 2 amps.

Used to deliver very low current, less than 2 amps back and forth, for several weeks. Then one day it was fluctuating 50V peak to peak! I don't know what else to say, I can't imagine what it would lead to if I have a lot of computers and other electronic devices.

Connected this power supply to my regulated load and tested it at idle, high load and overload (but not too much as I didn't want to burn out my new power supply). If you're familiar with Mean Well power supplies, you probably know they're some of the best, and these tests show just why. After a small tweak with a trimmer it kept 24v in all conditions. Very happy with this unit.

Testing the RMS voltage and ripple on the original power supply in my latest Tevo Tornado printer, Mean Well proved to have much cleaner/stable voltage and ripple. This became really apparent because I had an inductive non-contact automatic bed level sensor installed and the standard power supply was interfering with the sensor a lot.
