Normal controller with big drift problems

In general a decent controller for its price. However, the left stick has drift issues about 50% of the time. If I take my thumb off the joystick, my character continues to move, even though the joystick (apparently) returns to neutral. There is also an odd "click" when releasing the stick; in AC:NH (for example) if I move the character to my forehead and take my thumb off the joystick, the character then turns sideways a quarter turn and is now looking slightly left or right. This makes it incredibly frustrating to get used to, digging holes, etc. I'm not sure if I have a broken model, but it's more annoying than using joycons (which is a lot talked about). The biggest attraction for me, it looks really cool, especially in the dark. The joysticks are a bit high but not too uncomfortable. The layout of the Home/+/- buttons takes some getting used to as they are engraved rather than labeled and are difficult to see. The programmable paddles on the back are very easy to press. There were no instructions in the box so I don't know how to map them or how difficult it is, but I use them for what they are already programmed for (running and inventory in ACNH). All in all, not bad for the price, but I'd rather spend a little more and get a controller that looks, feels, and handles better.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
