I bought one of these Baycos to see how it compared to the gold standard Thermoworks theme. Given that the price difference is over $80. I didn't expect much. Boy was I wrong. We know Bayco temperature readings exactly with a thermal pen. 40 to 200 pounds. The speed was perfect even with the thermal grip. As you can see in the picture, the sensors are very similar in size and shape. I am very impressed with the performance. Of course, there are some differences when turning it on and off. Bayco needs to be turned on and off manually, while Themen turns on and off automatically. The opening of the probe at Bayco looks more casual. The overall feel is not comparable to thermopen. I have no idea how well Bayco will hold up over time. But I will keep using it and will report how well it holds up. I can't express how impressed I am with the fast and accurate $13 temperature sensor. A great alternative for those who can't stand the thought of paying $100. for thermal foam.
