The figures are bright and very large. It is a good choice for both young and old. I bought this for my son-in-law as a gift but had to test it to make sure it met his standards. Very compact, as in the photo. The packaging says there is a magnet on the back, which is very handy. And it has an auto shut off in case you forget to turn it off. For this money you will be very satisfied.

I overcooked steaks and donuts with Thermapen. I will register the temperature and in a minute my thermal pen will read 20-25 degrees hotter. My Bayco takes longer to register the temperature, but at least the temperature is accurate. I removed the thermal foam and now only use Baiko. Cooking is now a lot less of a hassle. Update: November 20th: Bayco has gotten very finicky about its on/off ability. You have to press the power button multiple times for it to respond.

We've had it for a few months and the readings are about 15 degrees higher. Shortly thereafter, after replacing the battery, it stopped working. It's probably not very waterproof and there's no customer service anywhere we could find to resolve any issues. When a product stops working after a few months, you know it's junk, and the lack of customer service makes it even more frustrating. We will avoid this brand in the future.

Well I lost a very expensive thermometer and was looking for a replacement. It works out! I like that you can recalibrate it, which I will do. I did a freeze test next to another food service thermometer and it was within 0.5 degrees. Not as fast as my $75 thermometer, but close enough. And it's backlit! I also like that there is an automatic switch-off. Too bad it came in blue. Maybe I won't lose this one with a built in magnet. I'll buy a few more as spares.

I am very impressed with this guy! I've used a Weber thermometer for years and have always found it to be fine. I got the Baco and compared and now the Weber stays in the drawer. I've tried using this thermometer about 6 times in the last few months. Every time I use it the battery dies. There's no real on/off switch, so there's some sort of vampiric battery drain. Coin boxes are not very common in my house so finding a new one to use the thermometer is very frustrating. The unit arrived looking just like the original. I put new quality batteries in both devices and left them for a few weeks. When I tried to turn on the old one, it was dead. The swap worked fine though.
