I bought this in the early days of the pandemic. My old canon, which I could weep lyrically over, is dead. I liked my old canon. When Canon tech support and I couldn't get it to work properly, I bought what tech support urged me to do. It was an emergency. And so begins months of disappointment that will last until this damn machine dies. It took me 2.5 months to do simple things like print without borders. You know that simple thing when you put a sheet of paper in a copier and it prints out one side? That's not that easy. You need to use the rear tray dedicated for envelopes and select as matte paper. Wonderful. Why did not I think of this? It's just today's oddity. That moment when you insert your USB stick and press the scan button? Ha! Not with this car. No USB drive. Also, unlike the old Canon, you need to use a utility on your computer to scan. The Canon utility is designed in the same way as the rest of the device. Difficult at best. That moment where you just click print on your computer and it works? Not this car. By default it's in sleep mode, which might make sense if you were warned about it and given instructions on how to turn it off. Before printing, as I ran up and down the stairs to turn on the printer and then ran back for a copy, I felt like I had a bad office job in the early 1980s. That moment when you just clicked the print button on your printer? nope The button is on that flexible piece of plastic called the control panel, which has to be lifted up for the light to hit your face because you have to look to press the print. You actually have to smack this thing a few times and it's not touch sensitive. I could go on. And further. Don't make me talk about the rear paper feed. Whoever came up with this made bad, bad drugs. Just buy another car. Your life will be easier.
