2004 VW Strut Replacement - the only way out for me is to remove the steering knuckle and wheel hub. Tap the passenger side lightly with a hammer - the driver's side is frozen. Try this tool - it doesn't fit the wheel hub bolts exactly, but close enough. A handle with a shock absorber bushing and a long breaker - clap - it turned out - the wheel hub broke off. Happiness - for 18 dollars. Not bad.
