Review on Kyocera Advanced Ceramic Perfect Peeler by Tony Mayes

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Chipping and cracking after 3 months, one sided blade and suboptimal ergonomics

It was a good idea to have a convertible cleaner for different scenarios. The ceramic blade was very sharp. However, there are three major design flaws. The blade is too thin, much thinner than the older vertical model I've owned for 6 years. It broke after 10 uses (mainly on potatoes and fruits like apples and pears) and within 3 months (maybe 20-30 uses). I have not abused it and have only hand washed with non-scratch tape and Palmolive detergent.2. The blade is only on one side, apparently to reduce costs. Every time I want to switch hands or change the cleaning direction, I have to rotate the blade holder 180 degrees. It's not much work, but annoying3. The ergonomics of the knife are not well thought out. For me it is rather inconvenient to use in vertical mode.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Speed of work
