I just got them and started painting with them. They worked very well initially, but now the charcoal keeps breaking down in the pencil I use and it's not as dark as it should be for charcoal. It's so light it looks like an HB pencil. It is strange. I can't seem to solve the problem. I will probably give them to my granddaughter; She's young and doesn't care anyway, and I'm by no means a pro, but I'm still sure the charcoal should be dark when you press hard to blend it. IDK maybe I have a bad one.
