Having worked in IT for over 10 years, including teaching computer courses to students, I tend to be very critical of consumer electronics that claim to work great out of the box. . So this device came out of the box and to my surprise it was well packaged, easy to connect and easy to use. I connected two cameras within five minutes out of the box. The video quality on my monitor was great, but some of you may not have HD monitors. So don't expect HD cameras to look good on a low-resolution screen. the picture quality is fantastic. I like the Power over Ethernet (PoE) feature because I don't have to find an outlet to hang these cameras on. I connect a total of eight cameras in and around the house. With this system you can connect more, which is a plus. The only problem I had was that one of the ethernet cables was broken. I don't know why it didn't work, but I made my own cable and it fixed the problem.
