High engine stall speed

Purchased for Huasheng 142F on a motorized beach cruiser to replace a broken factory clutch. In fact, this clutch is fine. Works as it should, factory fitted. Feels and looks like a quality device. My problem is that it engages at much higher rpm than the factory clutch. Maybe I just haven't gotten used to it yet. Who knows. Maybe try replacing the springs or swapping out the clutch for something else.
