This ladder is very strong and of excellent quality. Our two amazons enjoyed using it as a ladder and bridge and didn't seem to consider it a toy. When we received our mini macaw, it completely destroyed it within two days. This ladder is fine if you have non-destructive birds, but if you have a bird that likes to break beads, this is not your choice. Once they know they can break the wooden beads between the rungs and watch them fall and pile up on the floor, the stairs are over. This would be ideal for amazons, parrots and kennels when placed in an area they use as a bridge or ladder. If you have a mini macaw, it will serve you as an expensive toy for a day.
