So I bought one of the old style door latch stands for my Honda SUV. I loved it, but it actually only worked best on the rear doors, not the front door frames. It has adjustments to fit ALL corners of door frames. If your door has a sharp angle, the old style won't work. You need a straight vertical surface. It has an angle adjustment: just remove the cotter pin and bring it to the door frame. You can attach the footrest to the door and then insert the cotter pin when attaching the insole. Since we have a roof rack, I mostly use the back doors of my SUV to get to the pannier/wood etc on the trunk. It fits perfectly and I know I can use it on all doors and in all cases. other cars/SUVs too. It's heavy (about 3#) and bigger than others. It comes in its own drawstring pouch for safe keeping. I keep mine in the wheel well of my SUV so I always have it with me. Of great importance for your safety when loading and unloading your cargo. It also has a wider step so you can stand on it with both feet instead of just one.
