Pleasantly surprised! I wore it for a steam punk theme, but will use it again when pirates comes up, as well as any other excuse I get. The front is totally adjustable. I'm 5' 3", and with a low heeled boot the back length is perfect. It is very comfortable, and I am pleased with the material. Purchased it as a costume piece, but think it could easily be put into regular rotation if you are someone who wears skirts often. I am just not an 'everyday skirt' kind of girl. I did get quite a few compliments the night I wore it, and one girl even had me send her the link so she could buy one. Really a fun little addition to the wardrobe. Actually think I might need to acquire it in brown, too.Caution: do not YANK on the strings to adjust it. I had one come loose, but I have been assured it will be an easy fix. The other strings are very secure, and my "seamstress" thinks I must have caught it on something while trying to adjust it, or maybe I was just a knucklehead in a hurry who should have been more careful. Having purchased other items from this seller/store/brand, and consistently pleased with the quality, I really do believe it was something I did, and not a defect. And, as I said, the other strings are firmly attached. Just don't be an ape.
