Review on ⚙️ Enhance Your Smart Home Efficiency with SwitchBot Hub Mini Smart Remote - Wi-Fi Link IR Blaster for Air Conditioner Control, Alexa, Google Home, HomePod, IFTTT Compatibility by Ryan Cornelison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far this is FAILURE.

Sorry folks, but a device I can get 0% functionality from can only be rated one star despite the potential it could have. I have over 100 smart devices at home. Network. I bought a couple of switchbots and a temp/humidity box to control some of the few inaccessible devices I left at home. Setting up the previous Hub Plus was easy. However, I didn't like the cloud's ridiculous shape and replaced it with a smaller and more understated mini hub. But unlike the previous hub, this one failed to connect to my router. Why? Because you can't have a 5GHz WiFi hotspot. I'm not saying the problem is that the hub only connects to 2.4. This applies to almost every smart device with WiFi. The list of devices connecting to your 2.4GHz SSID and ignoring 5 is endless. But this hub can't connect to a router with a perfectly usable 2.4GHz signal if it's also 5GHz. The support section of the site basically says: Use 2.4. Useless. While my Ubiquiti Access Points allow for more features, such as A different SSID for each frequency, for example, the Eeros I use for smart devices don't. You can set an SSID that broadcasts on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Period. It is not possible to disable 5 GHz or assign it a different SSID. I would love to keep and use this device but they made it impossible. If the work does not contain an update, it must be returned.

Pros
  • Hubs and Controllers
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
