I used to use nanotechnology products. I like that these products create a protective layer that makes cleaning dirty areas easier as dirt doesn't stick well to the surface. I use a similar product to cover my car and it makes cleaning the car easier. I applied this product to the carpet in the living room where I eat and watch TV in hopes of making the carpet easier to clean in the event of a food accident. Although applying the product is quite easy, according to the instructions, you need to do the application three times. For a product that comes in such a small bottle, this is an expensive product, especially if you are making a large rug or rug. After application I noticed that the area of the carpet where I had applied it became a little stiffer. Not much but I only noticed it because I was looking for differences after using this product. Rigidity is provided by a protective layer. While I didn't specifically dye my rug to test how easy it is to clean, I think the toughness proves it adds some stain protection. Update: I spilled a small spoonful of pasta sauce on the carpet two weeks after the treatment. The sauce rubs off easily without much friction, which is usually required to completely remove the sauce's red color. That's why I say this product works.
