Ideal for keeping debris out of the cold water inlet screens of my new washing machine. I don't usually have problems with the rest of the house since I have a whole house water filter. However, my outdoor water tap and the new cold pipe for my washing machine come before the specified filter. I just attached this guy to the wall behind the washing machine and ran a small flush line down the drain along with the washing machine outlet hose. The included washers and fittings are of surprisingly high quality. Use Teflon tape not only on the brass threads but also on the plastic threads on the filter housing.
