I bought this fan to cool the generator in my sailboat engine room! The compact form factor was important to me and it fit perfectly in the small space I needed for the installation. It moves a lot of air - about 45 cfm, which might not sound like much, but it's actually quite a lot and it does its job fairly quietly, unlike some other fans I've researched that sounded bigger than jet engines. Before installing this fan, my alternator was getting hot. up to >400F! The temp is now barely above 280F and all I did was install this fan about 20 inches behind it. If you need to cool something and don't want to make a lot of noise, this fan is a very good choice.
