This is a MUST for today's heavy trucks, which are much taller than they used to be. I've already ordered one from a local retailer for $277 + tax. Then I found this one for $169.99 and saved myself over $100. I was able to send my other one back and received it within 2 days. It took me about 45 minutes to install just because the instructions weren't 100% clear and it took me a few minutes to figure out how everything works. It comes with 2 spacers that allow you to adjust the toe spacing between the bumper and the deployment stage. My 2017 really didn't need spacers as I rotated mine to the left and was able to catch the step angle to turn. They give you 2 sets of long bolts, one longer than the other, to allow washers to be installed if needed. I was able to use long bolts without washers because I wanted maximum bolt-to-thread contact and they didn't hit the ground. They say the tool list requires a 15mm and a 17mm socket (among a few other items) and 15mm was correct to loosen 2 factory bumper mounting bolts but 17mm was in the long bolt kits to mount the outboard very sloppy. Assembly to fit, the screws provided are actually 15mm to replace the bumper mounting screws and step bracket bracket and 16mm for the long screws to attach the step mechanism to the bracket. Again, you can use either long or short step screws as they will not fit into the mounting bracket holes with or without spacers. Works like a champ! Cleans well and doesn't look like it's hanging off the truck. It tucks away nicely just under the driver's side rear bumper. I will never own a truck without one of these again, especially if like me you're getting older and have sore knees! This is God's gift!
