Braided cables are great because 1) they don't tangle as much and 2) they last longer than traditional rubber-covered cables. I have used many braided cables and they are not all the same. Many still do not have a plug/connector retainer and so still fall apart at this junction and will soon deteriorate as the braid wears and the wires are exposed. What I like about them is that the piece of rubber that surrounds the plug/socket on each end is longer than most brands and is designed to be flexible. You'll get a lot more life out of them that way. I have 3 kits at the moment and they have outlasted other brands, enough that I'll just replace all my USB/Lightning cables with this brand and be done with it.
