The label covering the LEDs tends to peel off

This is the second charger I have. This is a quality charger, but in the Central Florida heat the label covering the LEDs has a tendency to peel off. When it rains, as it often does in Florida, the rain hits the controller box - that's why I bought this second device. The second time this happened I quickly unplugged it, removed the controller case, drained the water and hung it to dry for a week before plugging it back in. I was lucky that it worked fine after that. I decided not to put the shell back on, instead investing $20 in a small SocketBox since I don't need to see the LEDs anyway. I've used silicone where the cables enter the box to provide an extra layer of waterproofing and this solution seems to work great. I bought another brand as a third charger that will only be used in my garage and I will be using it in a SocketBox as an outdoor/work charger. Overall, I can't fault the charger. Mother Nature is a tough lady, but I would have preferred a fully sealed case over LEDs. However, I can't complain too much about the price.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
