. I am in the process of connecting my garage to 220v and love the versatility of this charger. Using the 12 amp charging cable that came with my Nissan Leaf has already cut the charging time by a couple of hours. The product is well finished and the connection to the car seems perfect. I love that the cord comes with hooks to hang the cord on the wall. I also like that it can be used for 110V and 220V. I'll try to post more after the workshop update next week.

Pros
  • . Few competitors.
Cons
  • . Piggy bank price

Worth the price!

I added a 240V 20A RCD to my electrical panel and installed a NEMA 6-20 outlet next to the panel in my garage. Very easy. I bought this charging cable for my 2019 BMW 530e as it only came with a 120v charging cable which took about 7 hours to charge my battery when it was dead. Since I installed this outlet and use this cord, it usually takes 3 hours or less. The cable materials appear to be of good quality (almost inferior to the OEM Delphi cable that came with the car). The J1772 connector…

Fast charge in our case

Our 500e came with a charger when we bought it used. I'm not sure if this charger is in stock, but I suspect it is. With the old charger, the charging process would sometimes stop when the battery was down to 57%. More often it stopped at the 94-95% level. Since buying this new charger, it has been charged to at least 94% every time (it seems that it costs 500 euros to stop there). And surprisingly, it loads noticeably faster than before. It often charges fully in fewer hours than the…

Requires 110/120v electric car charger in garage

6 month update: I have 120v 20amp wall sockets at my work place which we use to charge electric vehicles allowed to. BMW i3 2016. I could not achieve 1.9 kW on a 120 16A line as advertised. I consistently got 1.2kW (worse than the charger that came with the i3). Bought expecting to hit 1.9kW. 120V, 16A. Charging: 8 hours at 1.2 kW (outside temperature approx. 75Β°F) - approx. 40 miles in addition to the EV. Bought an orange plug cap for the adapter cord - a bit of extra wet protection (see PIC)…

The label covering the LEDs tends to peel off

This is the second charger I have. This is a quality charger, but in the Central Florida heat the label covering the LEDs has a tendency to peel off. When it rains, as it often does in Florida, the rain hits the controller box - that's why I bought this second device. The second time this happened I quickly unplugged it, removed the controller case, drained the water and hung it to dry for a week before plugging it back in. I was lucky that it worked fine after that. I decided not to put the…

Works for me: Tools and equipment

I didn't know which EVSE to choose as a newbie in the world of electric vehicles. At first I thought I would fail if I could get anything under 32 amps, but this works fine for me. My Fiat 500e can handle more amps, but this device charges it from zero to full in 6.5 hours. It's fast enough for my use. The decision to use the 16 amp model was dictated by the wiring in my house. I don't have a very large box so I was lucky enough to find an abandoned 240 amp circuit that was once used for an AC…

Great replacement for electric car charger

I bought this electric car charger for work, I can charge my Chevy Spark electric car while I work. I'm a teacher and my school's parking lot has several outlets in the underground garage. The original EV charger that came with my Spark has a 90 degree connector. This type of plug caused a problem for me. This failed to charge my car due to the angle of the plug, resulting in a poor connection and not charging my car. I started looking for EV charger cables that had a non-angled connector…

Unreliable for EV chargers

I returned the first one I bought because my 2015 Leaf kept charging wrong. This usually increases the battery by about 40-60% and then the error occurs. Thinking I had a defective block, I sent the first one back for replacement, and then the second one exhibited the same behavior. The error occurred between 30 minutes and 3 hours of charging. Judging by the LEDs on the front of the device, the error that occurred was called "Abnormal Current (SCP)". I wrote to the company to find out what…
