Misaligned, rusty and awkward to use

I bought this kit to replace the plastic sew on buttons I used to make mask earmuffs because the plastic buttons wore out over time and no longer stick together. There were no instructions here to begin with, so the instructions on the Revain images are all you get. I had 7 fasteners in total and I think I had to throw out 12 that were not installed properly (sharp bits sticking out) and had to be ripped open with pliers - less than 40% success rate. . And that was only after I realized that the white rubber grommet on one side of the stamp was installed upside down so I couldn't line up the other side of the latch initially, but it's easy to flip once. You understand what's going on. Both the perforator and the beater bar arrived with noticeable rust on them, but I was able to keep those pieces off the fabric. Rust is definitely something to keep an eye on if you're working with something light colored and don't want rust stains on it. To their credit, the latches themselves weren't rusty. The strike seems to be for leveling only, and even then it is very difficult to make a lock with great accuracy; maybe you will feel better after using it many times. Once you "poke" the latch you have to try to get it fully closed with the rod and I honestly found it easier to hammer the entire latch for the flat/inside side (had to have a tap for the male side of the use closure). grab). The female side of the latches also needs a bit of adjustment with pliers to accept the male side of the latch as I only had one female latch that could snap into the male latch without any adjustment and it was still quite hard/ tight, so I adjusted it anyway.
