Easy to use and connect

Let me say that I know absolutely nothing about home networking. I had dial-up access for years because it wasn't available in my area (and I live in Silicon Valley!). When our cable company started selling it, we subscribed to it immediately. I found the Netgear router and card very handy and easy to use. I simply connected the router, followed the instructions and off we went. The card was just as easy to set up. My desktop is running Windows XP and my laptop is running Win98. The only problem I had is running the 'Test' button after going into the router setup page. After entering your router settings on the setup page, you should click the "Check" button to ensure your router is configured correctly. You will be taken to a Netgear webpage stating you succeeded and are now protected. For me, the success webpage never shows up. After browsing the Netgear website (and some tech support articles), you need to disable any pop-up blockers that are in place. When I did that, the success page finally appeared. For research I went to [.] which has a lot of useful basic information for newbies like me. Much luck!
